# PRIVACY NOTES
HEY blocks tracking pixels by default and does not run ads or sell user data. Mail is encrypted at rest, in transit, and "at work" so staff can operate the service without reading message bodies, but there is no end-to-end encryption. 37signals is a US company and primary data centers are in Ashburn, VA and Chicago, IL with a replica in Amsterdam, so message data is subject to US legal process. Encryption design and application security have been reviewed by Trail of Bits and Doyensec; HEY runs an annual CASA Tier 2 audit and a paid bug bounty.
